Our team was awarded the piping, insulation, structural steel, and equipment setting for the Phase 2 Air Separation Unit (ASU) plant installation at North Star Steel. This major investment increased the oxygen supply up to 700 tons per day. 

Equipment installation includes air filters, compressors, chill tower, vessels, heaters, vaporizer, pumps, transformers, and tanks.

Messer Gas feeds liquid oxygen and argon to the steel mill, so having this plant directly on site will streamline the whole process. In addition to supplying North Star Steel, Messer’s new ASU will increase the company’s own liquid capacity in Delta, supporting growth and supply reliability for merchant customers in the growing Midwestern market.
