IPS was selected to be the mechanical contractor for the Ford Lima engine plant V-6 Upgrade Project. The mechanical package consisted of HVAC and installation of process piping including cooling water, compressed air, natural gas, and motor oil systems.
As part of the HVAC scope, IPS was responsible for demolition of existing rooftop air handling units (AHU) and setting and installation of three TMI rooftop AHUs

Challenges
The new TMI rooftop AHU were set during a weekend plant shut down. Due to the size of the units and set back on the roof, the units were set by a helicopter lift. This required extensive planning between IPS, the lifting company (Erickson), and the operational/ safety staff at the plant.
