Project Scope:

EDI is a landfill gas-to-energy developer based in Australia, with a US generating capacity approaching 100 MW at 8 separate locations scattered across the United States.

The location in San Antonio had excess gas available for another generating unit, and the composition of the gas coming from the landfill had increased in pollutants over the recent years, necessitating installation of a filtration system.

IPS removed the existing dehydration equipment and installed new gas compression, chilling, and reheat equipment; new filtration systems; a compressed air system; gas analyzer system; and a generator unit. IPS also performed the electrical work, installing a new MCC, pad mount transformer, surge protection, and utility interconnect.


The work was performed with the balance of the plant still under operation, requiring stringent lock-out procedures and work permitting tasks. Also challenging the project were torrential rains that occurred early in the project, threating to put the site work behind schedule. IPS worked extra shifts and added crews in order to make up any lost time and maintain the original schedule.

Project Scope:
IPS and ANR Pipeline negotiated a Master Service Agreement for the maintenance and improvement of site facilities, boilers and piping at the ANR Defiance compressor station.
Specific projects include:
• Compressor and ancillary components installation
• Install piping
• Install electrical, controls and instrumentation

IPS provided 24/7 maintenance services to ANR ensure optimal operation of the compressor station. This relationship was formed over a several year period and IPS took on more and more maintenance responsibilities over time.
