In 2007 Sunoco implemented a Naphtha Simplification project, requiring a 6-week plant outage. IPS was hired to manage the turn-around project and performed over 22,000 man-hours during this time. Staff included 30 craft per shift and 11 management staff including general foremen, project managers, superintendents, time keepers, clerks, QA/QC, safety, and document control.
The Scope of Work involved installation of project tie-ins, equipment installation, re-work of existing piping systems, all electrical and re-tray of existing towers. IPS was responsible for full QA/QC services including all NDE inspection, testing, and repair stamp.
Sunoco owns and operate four refineries located in Philadelphia, PA; Marcus Hook, PA; Westville, NJ; and Toledo, OH. These refineries have a combined crude oil processing capacity of 825,000 barrels per day.
Sunoco’s refining and supply business manufactures refined products, primarily gasoline, diesel, jet fuel and residual fuels, as well as commodity petrochemicals.
