Project Scope:

Sunoco Logistics owns and operates a logistics business consisting of a geographically diverse portfolio of complementary crude oil, refined products, and natural gas liquids pipeline, terminalling and acquisition and marketing assets which are used to facilitate the purchase and sale of crude oil, refined products, and natural gas liquids.

IPS was contracted to upgrade terminals along their Allegany Access pipeline from Toledo, OH to Pittsburgh, PA. The scope of work included modifications to existing piping, replacement of control valves, inline instruments, installation of 2,000 HP products pumps, ethane tank installations, high voltage substation installation and modifications to the terminal control systems. IPS also excavated concrete, poured foundations, performed structural steel and site enhancement work to support the terminal upgrades. These upgrades and repairs increased the pipeline production, pumping capabilities and terminal throughput. IPS did work on many of the Sunoco sites in Ohio including Hudson, Mogador, Fostoria, Cedar Point, Toledo, Pemberville, Rawson and Willard.

IPS was able to make the upgrades and repairs to all of the terminals concurrently while keeping the Sunoco sites fully operational so they could continue to meet the demands of their customers.
