Project Scope:

Midwest Terminal, in order to meet US Department of Transportation requirements, needed to upgrade its pipeline encasements to provide an approved secondary containment for the pipeline. The pipeline improvement ran between Midwest Terminal’s barge and rail offloading areas at the Port off Toledo. IPS performed this DOT piping upgrade work.

Additionally, IPS constructed an LPG Rail to truck trans-loading facility. IPS self-performed all equipment sets, structural steel, piping and electrical. The equipment set included the compressor skid and all associated pumps.

 Challenges:

Midwest Terminal’s pipeline is in an active port facility. There are heightened security requirements at this port facility. IPS provided trained and certificated employees that meet all Department of Homeland Security requirements.
