IPS was contracted to install the Curing Department’s process piping for a new expansion located at the Titan Tire Corporation of Bryan in Bryan, Ohio. Titan Tire makes off- road tires for heavy equipment.
This project is to support a New Curing Line, which will produce the largest tire made in the world. The tire is 13′ 2″ in diameter, weighing approximately 13,000 pounds. The line produces approximately 20 tires a day when the project is complete. The life span for one of these tires is eight months.
One of the challenges on this project was the additional engineering changes for the processes that had to be added to the project without extending the original contract schedule. IPS completed the project with all of the changes within a 13-month timeframe. Another challenge on this project involved performing construction while the plant was still in operation. With close coordination of IPS supervision, Titan Tire employees, and six other contractors, this was achieved with no significant delay to either the construction schedule or the Titian Tire production schedule.
