Project Scope:

Heinz in Freemont, Ohio contracted IPS to increase the efficiency of the homogenizing process, decrease the power consumption, install 11 VFD’s and new electrical feeds to the Homogenizers and change the feeds over from old to new during shutdown periods. We were able to provide the customer with a cost savings benefit based on the power consumption being reduced and the project being installed by well trained professional craftsman.

The Heinz plant had tight congested areas to work and employees were working over and around functional equipment. IPS Met the challenges by careful coordination with the plant and the IPS Safety department to make certain no one was hurt, and no equipment was damaged. There also were irregular schedules for shutdown windows. IPS Met the challenge by working long shifts at different hours of the day and night to make sure the plant was back on line for production as scheduled.
