In preparation for concrete to be poured, installing rebar significantly increases the strength of the structure itself. 

The continuous series of indentations promote a better bond with the concrete and reduce the risk of fractures. This allows the structure to better withstand heavy equipment and movements that might otherwise cause the concrete to weaken.
