Have you ever wondered how effective a hard hat really is??? Well, last Thursday our Safety team demonstrated the importance of wearing your hard hat on the job site. OSHA approved hard hats are designed to deflect and absorb the impact of an object or force. Bill Norris, our Safety Director, dropped a two pound sledge hammer off of a 30 foot high ledge onto watermelon. One watermelon was not wearing a hard hat and the other was wearing one. The objective of this safety demonstration was to show that a hard hat can be a life saving device and that controlling your tools/equipment is important. Protect your melon, wear a hard hat!!
