Batch House Rebuild
NSG Pilkington - Rossford, Ohio
NSG Pilkington is a world leader in flat glass production. The Rossford Plant operates two float glass lines – fueled by an oxy-fueled furnace – to produce windshields, solar panels, and architectural glass. Earlier in 2016 NSG Pilkington decided that one of the furnaces had exceeded its useful life and would need to be replaced.
The work began with demolition of the existing bucket elevators, weigh bins, feeders, chutes and hoppers.
Rebuilding the Batch House required extensive millwright and electrical work. IPS performed a complete replacement of the (2) two bucket elevator casings 280’- 0” tall. Rebuilt (2) two mixer units. IPS also installed new feeders, chutes, and weigh hoppers. Repaired the cullet bins and extended them up to allow more product storage.
